The Project Zulu choir are from Sithobelumthetho Senior Primary School in the Madadeni township, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. They were brought to the UK by staff and students at the University Of The West Of England in summer 2013 for a three week performance tour. All proceeds from the tour, including from the sale of this album go directly to the school's solar panel project.

The children are aged 11 - 15 years and for many this was their first trip beyond their local area, and the first trip abroad for all of them. The album was recorded at Clifton College in Bristol by sound engineering students from the University of the West of England.
